Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home which has a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African 2025 nsfas application citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
